In this episode, I speak to bike activist JP Amaral about narratives that change a city. When JP fell in love with biking in 2007, it was said that biking in Sao Paolo was impossible. By 2017, Sao Paolo had over 74 miles of bike lanes and a bike sharing program with over 1,000 bikes. I spoke to JP about this transformation. In 2010 he helped form Bike Anjo, bike angle, helping people new to cycling. JP shares strategies he used for building a pro cycling narrative, including storytelling formulas, the importance of collaborations and how to build momentum across political tenures.
